Four individuals have been charged following an investigation into two burglaries in Chatham where a significant quantity of vapes and cash were stolen.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, when owners of a business on Second Avenue discovered a large theft of vapes overnight. Kent Police launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas, analyzing automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) data, and conducting a forensic examination.

A second break-in was reported on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at a shop on Luton Road. During this incident, cash and vapes were taken after entry was gained under the cover of darkness.

Detectives pursued various lines of inquiry, leading to the arrest of four suspects on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Two men, both without a fixed address, were apprehended in London and Eastbourne, East Sussex. The other two were taken into custody in Southampton, Hampshire; one resides in Chatham, and the other in Southampton.

All four individuals – aged 30, 30, 29, and 25 – have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglaries. One of the 30-year-old suspects also faces an additional charge related to a burglary in Ealing, London, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

The accused appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 26, 2025.
