London Dealer Jailed After Multi-Drug County Line Operation in Tonbridge

A London drug dealer who peddled a cocktail of six different illegal substances across Tonbridge has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison, after claiming his ill-gotten gains came from hairdressing and music management.

Babutunde Ososipe, 31, from Bermondsey, was handed a five-year and 10-month jail term at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, June 2, 2025. He pleaded guilty to five counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Ososipe’s elaborate cover story unravelled as evidence showed he spent eight months orchestrating a county line operation, dealing cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, Valium, Xanadol, and ecstasy pills.

Between March 29 and November 29, 2024, Ososipe exploited WhatsApp, sending marketing messages to hundreds of drug users, effectively turning the messaging app into his illicit storefront.

His reign ended on November 29 when he was arrested with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Service. Subsequent investigations and searches unearthed a significant haul: over £10,000 in cash, a bullet, a knife, a Louis Vuitton bag, a diamond ring, a diamond necklace, and multiple mobile phones.

During his interview, Ososipe vehemently denied his involvement in the county line, asserting that the expensive jewellery and designer bag were merely loans from friends, intended to “look good at the gym” for his birthday. His fanciful claims, however, failed to sway investigators.

The court heard how Ososipe’s lucrative drug enterprise, which he falsely attributed to legitimate professions, was in fact a sophisticated network designed to flood the streets of Tonbridge with dangerous substances.

Investigating officer, DC Chloe Chapman, said:

‘Ososipe attempted several creative explanations to account for incriminating evidence.

‘He claimed money was earned through legitimate business endeavours or gifted to him by a family member. He alleged the designer bag and high-value diamond jewellery was lent to him by a local artist and friend so he could look good.

‘His explanations were later proven to be fictitious.

‘The lengthy sentence imposed by the judge is reflective of his role in the supply chain.’
