A local sex offender, Ryan Perrins, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a horrific campaign of abuse against a vulnerable teenage girl, which included violent assault and sexual exploitation.
The 35-year-old, from Maidstone was also handed a 10-year restraining order upon his release.
Perrins subjected his victim to approximately seven months of sustained abuse, lasting until October 2023. The court heard how he exploited the teenager, supplying her with cannabis and then sexually assaulting her as “payment.”
When the young victim attempted to break contact, Perrins responded with escalating violence and intimidation. On one occasion, he slammed her head against a parked van. He also barraged her with an astonishing 59 calls in just 12 hours, demonstrating the extent of his coercive control.
Perrins was arrested on January 31, 2024. He later pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and assault at Maidstone Crown Court on December 16, 2024. However, he denied four counts of sexual activity with a child. Following a trial, Perrins was found guilty of all charges and sentenced at the same court on June 6, 2025.
Investigating officer, DC Katy Saunders, said:
‘Perrins committed heinous and vile acts against a vulnerable young girl. He dehumanised her by treating her like a personal possession and violently lashed out in a jealous rage when she attempted to leave the situation.
‘He denied culpability throughout the investigation, indicating a complete lack of remorse for his despicable actions and forcing the victim to relive horrendous memories during trial.
‘We are so grateful for the victim’s bravery and support and hope that the lengthy sentence – alongside the restraining order – offers her some comfort.’
