A woman has been charged after a three-year-old girl was bitten by a dog in Rainham.

Kent Police were called on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after the incident occurred around 3:30pm that afternoon in Mierscourt Road. The child received hospital treatment in London for an arm injury. The girl has since been discharged.

An investigation was launched, leading to an arrest on Monday, June 23. A dog, believed to be a Cockapoo, was also seized by officers.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested and charged with being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury the same day. She has been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
