Residents are invited to two upcoming drop-in sessions to discuss the environmental future of Princes Parade. A recent survey revealed strong community support for preserving the site as an open, biodiverse space.

Folkestone & Hythe District Council is hosting these engagement events at Hythe Town Hall (CT21 5AJ) to gather further public input on the 18-acre site. This is a crucial opportunity for the community to voice their opinions on how to best protect and enhance the area’s natural environment.

Hythe ward representatives, Councillors Jim Martin, Anita Jones, and Rich Holgate, will be present at various times during the sessions, which will take place on Friday, July 4th (4pm – 7pm) and Saturday, July 5th (10am – 1pm).

While all topics related to Princes Parade are welcome, discussions are expected to focus on Seapoint Canoe Club, the Seabrook Park play equipment and car park together with key environmental considerations such as the impact on local wildlife, potential green infrastructure improvements, and sustainable land management practices.

Leader Cllr Jim Martin said:

“Princes Parade is a subject which has dominated the local conversation for 15 years, so it’s right to ensure everybody with an opinion has the chance to share it with us.

“This event isn’t about us presenting ideas – it’s about having a chat and hearing what the people of Seabrook, Hythe and beyond have to say.”
