Firefighters battled a dramatic nighttime blaze last night as trees ignited along the A2070 near Hamstreet, prompting an urgent response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
The alarm was raised at 10:01 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2025, when reports came in of trees ablaze. Two fire engines, supported by a specialized wildfire Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), quickly converged on the scene. Crews swiftly deployed a fire fogging unit, using a fine mist to aggressively tackle and extinguish the flames.
Thanks to the rapid and decisive actions of the firefighters, the inferno was brought under control and fully extinguished by 12:12 AM on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries linked to the incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and authorities are expected to investigate what sparked the late-night blaze.
