Kent Police are sending a clear message to anyone considering importing illegal drugs via postal services: expect arrest, court appearances, and potential prison sentences. The warning comes after a series of targeted operations in July 2025 led to multiple arrests and the seizure of cannabis packages.
Police executed 11 warrants across the Maidstone and Tonbridge areas after intercepting parcels containing cannabis originating from the USA. These packages were seized before delivery, and investigations into those suspected of involvement are ongoing.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals on suspicion of various drug offences. One man has since been formally charged with importing a Class B drug with intent to evade prohibition and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
Four other suspects have been released on bail as enquiries continue, and one individual was dealt with through a community resolution. During the raids, officers also confiscated a substantial amount of cash, mobile phones, and drug dealing paraphernalia, underscoring the serious nature of the illicit activities.
