A man has appeared in court following an incident in Canterbury where a vehicle reportedly collided with multiple cars, including a police vehicle, after failing to stop for officers.

The event, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, saw police on patrol in Whitstable Road request a motorist to stop. The vehicle did not comply and, in an attempt to leave the scene, collided with several other vehicles before coming to a halt a short distance away. The driver then reportedly fled the scene on foot.

Following investigations, a 32-year-old man from Ashford was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and four counts of criminal damage. He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 17, and was remanded in custody. His next court appearance date has yet to be determined.
