Award winning Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens

Great news for nature lovers! Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens have once again secured the prestigious Green Flag Award for the fifth consecutive year. This international quality mark celebrates the exceptional care and dedication that keeps these beloved Dover parks looking their best.

Since their £3.1 million “Parks for People” revamp in 2021, funded by the National Lottery Heritage and Community Funds, these stunning green spaces have consistently met the highest standards.

This fantastic achievement comes on the heels of another exciting development: a brand-new, over £150,000 play area is set to open soon at Kearsney Abbey, promising even more fun for visitors!

Dover District Council is thrilled with the recognition. Cllr Lynne Wright praised “everyone who works so hard to maintain these important community assets, from DDC staff to volunteers and members of the public.” Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, echoed the sentiment, highlighting how “quality parks and green spaces make the UK a healthier place in which to live and work.”
