Police Visit Kent Hotels in Child Exploitation Awareness Campaign

Kent Police officers have been visiting hotels across the county to ensure staff are vigilant for signs of child sexual exploitation.

From July 1st to July 11th, constables visited 19 establishments in Dover, Tonbridge, and Tunbridge Wells. This initiative is part of an ongoing campaign to safeguard vulnerable individuals from exploitation.

During their visits, officers reminded hotel employees who interact with guests about key indicators that might suggest a person is at risk from a third party. They also provided guidance on the necessary steps to take to allow for police intervention.

Inspector Joe Breen said:

‘We are continuing our series of proactive deployments, testing the response to child exploitation in the hospitality sector, and offering guidance and training to help keep children safe.

‘We will continue to raise awareness, identify opportunities to prevent harm to children and engage with our non-traditional partners, working together to disrupt persons of concern.’
