Two Broadstairs women have been arrested and subsequently bailed after police recovered a stash of suspected drugs, cash, and mobile phones during a car stop in Chandos Square on Wednesday evening.
Officers on patrol in the town became suspicious after witnessing a man leaning into a parked car. This prompted them to intervene and conduct a search of the vehicle. The search led to the discovery of what is believed to be cocaine, suspected cannabis, multiple mobile phones, and a substantial amount of cash.
A 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and driving while unfit through drugs. A 21-year-old woman was also taken into custody on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of Class B drugs. Both suspects, who are from Broadstairs, have been released on bail as police continue their investigations.
