Kent Police have reported a man who befriended and repeatedly sexually assaulted a young girl he met on the street in Medway has been sentenced to more than four years in prison. Abiola Adenmosun, 35, was jailed on Friday, July 18, 2025, after being found guilty of multiple child sex offences.
Adenmosun’s predatory behaviour began in 2012 when he stopped his car alongside a girl walking alone in Rochester. He quickly gained her trust and arranged a subsequent meeting. At this follow-up encounter, Adenmosun provided the victim with alcohol and a cannabis cigarette, leading to her disorientation before he sexually assaulted her in his vehicle. Over several months, Adenmosun continued to meet with the child, committing further sexual offences. During this period, he also damaged the victim’s phone and assaulted one of her relatives.
The victim’s attempts to break contact with Adenmosun were met with persistent texts and phone calls, ultimately leading her to report his crimes to the police in 2017. Adenmosun from Chatham, was interviewed and subsequently charged with six counts of sexual activity with a child. He pleaded not guilty at Maidstone Crown Court but was convicted on all counts on February 28, 2025. In addition to his four-year and three-month prison sentence, Adenmosun has been made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be required to sign the Sex Offenders Register. He also faces a lifelong restraining order.
Detective Constable Kayleigh Archer, the investigating officer, commended the victim’s bravery.
“This man sought out a vulnerable girl who was walking by herself, gained her trust and then went on to commit multiple sexual offences,” she stated. “The victim had immense courage in initially reporting her ordeal. She then had the resilience to support our investigation over a long period of time and then give evidence at court. This has ensured this appalling man is now in prison and he cannot pose a risk to other young victims.”
