Maidstone Residents’ Worries Lead to Drugs Bust

Neighbourhood police in Maidstone have successfully tackled drug dealing activity, leading to an arrest and significant seizures of illicit substances and cash. The operation was launched in response to ongoing concerns raised by local residents about drug-related issues in their community.

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, plainclothes officers were deployed in the Lower Boxley Road area of the town when they observed a man behaving suspiciously near an alleyway. As the person attempted to leave the scene on foot, officers intervened and detained them. A search revealed multiple deals of cocaine concealed within a cigarette packet, along with a mobile phone. The individual was promptly arrested and taken into custody. Further investigations led officers to a town centre address, where a subsequent search uncovered approximately £2,000 in cash, alongside additional quantities of cocaine and cannabis.

An individual has since been charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possession of criminal property (referring to the seized cash), and possessing cannabis. The individual, aged 21, was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 28. They have since been remanded for a future hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
