Community groups across the Dover District are celebrating a significant summer boost, with 72 local organizations sharing approximately £50,000 in the latest round of Dover District Council’s Community Grants Scheme.
This popular scheme has returned to provide crucial funding, enabling these groups to deliver vital projects for the area. And there’s more good news on the horizon: another £50,000 will be available for local groups in the winter months, as part of the ongoing Cost of Living Community Impact Fund. The total grant pot of £100,000 includes £45,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Community groups dedicated to benefiting the local area were invited to apply for grants ranging from £100 to £5,000. The scheme specifically aims to encourage and support community-led activities that directly benefit residents of the Dover District.
Cllr Lynne Wright, DDC Cabinet Member for Community said:
“We are delighted to be able to provide these grants to the successful applicants. Local groups and charities carry out essential work in our communities, and we are very pleased to help support vital local projects with the return of our Community Grants Scheme.”
