Words and pictures by Ray Duff – More than 100 people gathered near Folkestone Harbour on Friday evening, 1 August 2025 for a “Honk for Gaza” protest, the second such demonstration in the town. The hour-long event aimed to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis and starvation in Gaza.

Participants of all ages brought pots and pans to create noise, while displaying homemade banners to amplify their message. Numerous passing vehicles honked in support of the demonstrators.

The Folkestone rally coincided with other protests across Britain, all advocating for an end to the suffering in Gaza, a ceasefire, and a negotiated settlement.
