Hope is on the horizon for job seekers in Dover, Deal, and Sandwich as three new monthly job clubs are introduced to the community. These new clubs, designed to give residents the support they need to land their dream job, will offer a helping hand with everything from crafting the perfect resume to acing that all-important interview.

Starting in September, the monthly clubs will feature dedicated staff ready to assist with job searching, CV writing, filling out application forms, and interview practice. Here’s where you can find them:

  • Dover Charlton Centre: The first Monday of every month, starting September 1st.
  • Sandwich Jubilee Centre: The third Friday of every month, starting September 19th.
  • Deal Welfare Club: The fourth Friday of every month, starting September 26th.

In other exciting news, the massive Big Dover Jobs and Volunteering Fair is set to return to Cruise Terminal 2 at the Port of Dover on Wednesday, October 8th. Dover District Council, the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP), Port of Dover, and Stagecoach are joining forces again to connect job seekers with a wide range of opportunities. Over 50 employers and volunteer groups are expected to be on hand, and with a free shuttle bus running from Dover town centre, getting there will be a breeze.

Councillor Kevin Mills, Leader of Dover District Council, shared his excitement, saying, “We’re thrilled to bring these new job clubs to the district. We hope they give job seekers a confidence boost and help them on their journey to finding work.”

The Jobs Fair is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. For more information, residents can visit dover.gov.uk/jobclub.
