A two-year-old boy is dead and a man is in a serious condition after a vehicle struck multiple pedestrians in a tragic collision in Whitstable Saturday night. Kent Police were called to the scene at the junction of Harbour Street and Cromwell Road around 8:24pm.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody as the investigation continues. The young boy was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The toddler’s family has been notified. The injured man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses as they work to piece together the events that led to the crash. Anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to contact Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
