Chatham Drug Bust Leads to Charges Against Three

Three people have been charged after a proactive police operation in Chatham resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected Class A drugs. Officers on patrol were alerted to suspicious activity on Institute Road at approximately 11am on Wednesday, August 13. A man and a woman were stopped and searched, leading to the discovery of cash, a mobile phone, and several wraps of what is believed to be crack cocaine.

Further investigations led police to another location in the High Street area, where a second man was arrested. Additional searches there uncovered more cash, two mobile phones, and a number of suspected Class A drug rocks. All three individuals—two men and one woman—were charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and being involved in the supply of the substance. They appeared in Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 14. Two of the suspects were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear at Crown Court on Friday, September 12. The third was granted conditional bail until the same court date.
