Residents and businesses near Folkestone Harbour are now able to open their windows and doors again following a fire at a derelict building on The Tram Road. The incident, which started early Tuesday morning, 19 August, saw a swift response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
At 4:43am this morning, three fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, worked to extinguish the blaze using main jets and high-pressure hose reel jets. An initial warning was issued to the public to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke, but this was lifted by 8:33am after the fire was brought under control. Authorities have confirmed there were no injuries reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
