A vacant house and several outbuildings on Battle Lane, Marden were completely destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Wednesday 20 August, in what police are treating as a suspected arson attack.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the scene around 12:40am to battle the large blaze. Firefighters spent several hours working to bring the extensive fire under control. Police were also present to assist at the scene. No injuries were reported as the property was empty at the time of the incident.

Detectives have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
