Get ready to claim your slice of paradise! The highly anticipated Coast Drive coastal hub project is making a splash in Greatstone, and at its heart are 93 brand new beach huts, ready to be rented. This isn’t just about a place to store your towels—it’s a chance to be part of a vibrant new community hub that will transform the Romney Marsh coastline.

Each one is a picture of classic seaside charm, with a pitched felt roof, a welcoming veranda, and a fresh, painted finish. They’re part of a grander vision that includes a new café, a water sports centre, and state-of-the-art public facilities. This project, set to be completed later this year, is designed to be a major boost for local tourism and a hub of activity for residents and visitors alike.

The council expects a huge wave of interest. That’s why a waiting list is being launched for anyone who wants to rent one of these exclusive spots. But you’ll need to act fast!

How to Get Your Name on the List

The waiting list opens at 10am on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. To register your interest, head to the Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s website. The list is capped at 200 applicants, so mark your calendars and be ready to click. If you can’t get online, you can call 01303 853000 for assistance once the list is open.

And for those who call the district home, there’s even better news: up to 85% of the huts will be allocated to local residents. The annual rent for the first year is £1,470 plus VAT.

With significant interest expected, securing one of these huts means getting in line early. Don’t miss your chance to be among the first to enjoy a new era of seaside fun on the beautiful Romney Marsh. More information about the letting terms, including lease term and rent, can be found on the council’s website.
