Gillingham Manhunt Launched Following Report of Serious Sexual Assault

Police have launched a major investigation and are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted on Monday night in Gillingham. The attack took place at approximately 9:25pm on Saunders Street, near the intersection with St George’s Road.

According to a police report, a man allegedly pulled the victim into a nearby alleyway before the assault took place. The suspect, who was reportedly armed with a knife, was disturbed by a dog, causing him to flee the scene. Police are searching for a man described as black, in his 50s, and over 6ft tall. He is said to have short black hair on the sides and curlier hair on top. At the time of the incident, he was believed to be wearing dark jogging bottoms and dark blue Nike trainers.

Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and has not yet spoken with police to come forward. They are also asking residents with private CCTV and drivers with dashcam footage to check their recordings for anything that might assist with the investigation.
