An investigation into a suspected arson in Rochester has led to a man being charged. The incident occurred at a High Street business premises between 5am and 5:25am on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

A fire reportedly started in a floral display at the entrance of the building before spreading to the door frame and a shop sign. Following an investigation, a man was arrested on Thursday, August 28. He has since been charged with arson. The man aged 31 was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 29 August.
