A suspect has been charged with several offences after a serious collision just off a major motorway. The incident occurred on a Friday night around 9pm, when officers noticed a car being driven erratically near junction 3 of the coastbound carriageway.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, a blue VW Golf, but it failed to pull over and exited the motorway at junction 4. It then collided with an ambulance at the roundabout connecting the slip road to the A278 Hoath Way.
Two ambulance crew members were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following the crash, two men and a teenage boy were arrested and taken into custody after receiving medical attention. A 19-year-old man was charged with multiple offences, including three counts of causing injury by dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence or insurance, and possessing cannabis. He was remanded in custody and is set to appear in court on Monday, September 1st. An 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were released on bail.
