A man has been charged following a serious assault in Herne Bay, with additional arrests made as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police were called to an altercation on Hampton Pier Avenue shortly before 7pm on Monday, August 25, 2025. Responding officers and paramedics found a man in his 40s with significant head injuries. He was transported by air ambulance to a London hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
Two men, one 18 and one 48, were arrested on the same day. The younger man has been released without charge, while the older man remains on bail as the investigation continues. The following day, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 20s were also arrested in connection with the incident. The woman has since been released on bail. The man, a 27-year-old from Ramsgate, has been charged with grievous bodily harm. He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 28 August where he was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday 29 September 2025 at Canterbury Crown Court.
