Kent Police are seeking witnesses and a potential victim following a reported incident of racial abuse on Northdown Road. Police were called on Saturday, September 6, at 5 pm after a man was allegedly seen shouting racist abuse at members of the public.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested a 43-year-old local man on suspicion of assault and harassment. He has since been released on bail while the investigation continues. According to a police spokesperson, the person who was the target of the abuse had left the area before officers arrived and authorities are now appealing for the individual to come forward to ensure their well-being and to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
