Michael Millson, 39, was already under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) following a previous conviction for possessing indecent images. The order, issued in February 2024, prohibited him from owning an internet-enabled device without police approval and from using software that could hide his online activity. On June 26, 2024, Millson was recalled to prison for poor behaviour and was arrested. During a search, officers found a mobile phone that he had not disclosed to police. A review of the device revealed he had installed banned apps and file-sharing software, directly violating his SHPO. Further investigation showed several indecent images had been downloaded to the phone’s camera roll.
Millson, formerly of Palmerston Road, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including eight breaches of his SHPO, six counts of making indecent images, and possession of an indecent image. On September 4, 2025, he was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court.
Detective Constable Zoe Wornham said: ‘We apply for court orders such as these so that convicted sex offenders can be closely monitored once they have served time in prison. This helps us to safeguard potential future victims and prevent further crimes from being committed. Millson clearly breached the conditions imposed by the court and was rightly put back in prison as a result. Offenders who are released and are subject to restrictions should remember that they will be made to face the consequences if they fail to adhere to them.’
