A cannabis cultivation operation with a street value estimated at £40,000 has been dismantled after police raided a residential property in Herne Bay. The discovery on Friday, September 5, was made after a joint investigation between Kent Police and Canterbury City Council led to the property.

The investigation began following reports of illegal fly-tipping in the area. Evidence of dumped cannabis plants and growing equipment was traced back to a home on Canterbury Road. Following this lead, officers executed a warrant and found more than 90 cannabis plants being grown inside. Police seized all the plants along with cultivation equipment, including specialized lighting, ventilation, and irrigation systems. The plants have since been removed and destroyed.

An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate those responsible for the grow. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the east Kent appeals line at 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/154682/25. Residents on or near Canterbury Road with private CCTV or dashcam footage from Friday, September 5, are also asked to review their recordings for any relevant information.
