Get ready to turn up the volume! Ashford’s vibrant music scene is set to explode this October as Create Music Village takes over the town. This isn’t just a festival; it’s a month-long celebration of live music, shining a spotlight on Ashford’s incredible grassroots venues and showcasing a stellar lineup of talent.
Now in its fourth year, Create 25 promises a diverse and dynamic experience, bringing together everything from international headliners to beloved local acts. You can expect to see the sensational return of Shaun Williamson (aka Barrioke) and the high-energy Deptford Northern Soul Club. They’ll be joined by Nashville legends Hayseed Dixie and local favorites like Robin Mack and Sidetracked. The action will be spread across Ashford’s most interesting and unique spaces, including core venues like Revelation, Low Key Taproom, and Coachworks, as well as other hotspots like The Ashford Cinema, RG Studios, and the Ashford Bandstand.
This year brings some exciting new additions to the lineup, including the Ashford Young DJ Competition. Young hopefuls can compete live at Coachworks for a chance to win some incredible prizes. Plus, there’s a unique collaboration with Screen Ashford, giving local musicians the opportunity to create and screen their own music videos on the big screen. The festival will also be a key part of Black History Month. On Saturday, October 25, head to Coachworks for a day of market stalls and DJs celebrating local Black businesses. And on Saturday, October 4, catch a special screening of the powerful documentary The Summer of Soul at The Ashford Cinema.
Can’t wait for October? Get a sneak peek at the Ashford Bandstand on Saturday, September 20, for free pre-launch performances and an exclusive DJ set from Simon Rosenburg, host of the Young DJ Competition.
