A Routine Court Trip Leads to Lucky Break

A routine court trip turned into a significant drug bust for two sharp-eyed police constables in Tonbridge. Their keen observation led them to disrupt a suspected drug supply network after spotting suspicious activity on Hectorage Road.

The officers were driving back from an unrelated court hearing when they noticed something out of the ordinary. Their quick thinking and a call for backup led them to identify and stop a Volkswagen Golf on Martin Hardie Way. A search of the vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act uncovered several wraps of what is believed to be cocaine, a knife, and a large sum of cash. The 31-year-old driver was arrested and charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing a knife in a public place. He appeared in court and has been remanded in custody until his next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on October 6th.
