Fire Crews Battle Canterbury ‘Old Park’ Blaze

A wildfire in Old Park, Canterbury was quickly contained on Saturday afternoon by Kent Fire and Rescue Service, who deployed five fire engines and a range of specialist equipment to battle the blaze.

Crews were called to the scene at 3:09pm and worked for nearly two hours to extinguish the fire. The response included the use of fire fogging units, portable water tanks, and powerful hose jets, along with an all-terrain vehicle and an unmanned drone to assist with the operation. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
