Ashford Borough Council has just launched Dwell, the latest eye-catching public art at Conningbrook Lakes!

Sculptor Tim Norris created this unique, multi-functional piece that doubles as both a beautiful bird hide and a striking landmark. Inspired by nature and shaped like an egg, Dwell is clad in hand-cut cedar shingles and sits on the bank of the Eco Lake, offering a perfect spot for quiet observation and contemplation of the nature reserve.

Norris designed the piece using natural materials that complement the area, encouraging visitors to “sit quietly and feel like they are part of nature.” This exciting addition is part of the Council’s Public Art Strategy, developed in partnership with Chartway, Latimer Developments, and FrancisKnight. The strategy aims to make Conningbrook Lakes a truly unique destination, blending art with the environment to connect people to the landscape—a goal shared by site managers, Kent Wildlife Trust. Get ready to see more art coming to the lakes soon!
