A caravan was completely destroyed in a blaze on Ashford Road, Chartham, early Saturday morning in what fire investigators suspect may be a deliberate act.

Emergency services were called to Ashford Road, Chartham, at 6:28 AM today, Saturday, October 11, after reports of a caravan fully alight. Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) used high-pressure hose reel jets to quickly tackle the flames, which were extinguished within an hour. The caravan was confirmed to be severely damaged or destroyed in the incident.

Crucially, no injuries were reported, either to the public or to the attending fire crews. A KFRS spokesperson said that the cause of the fire is ‘believed to be deliberate’ and the incident is understood to have been passed on to Kent Police for further investigation.
