A man celebrating his recent release from prison was back behind bars this week, sentenced to almost six years for a violent rampage at his own “welcome home” party in Dartford.
Shane Doyle, 44, (pictured below) who had only just been released from custody, turned a gathering at a house in Lunedale Road into a scene of brutal violence on the evening of 8 February 2025.

The evening spiralled out of control when Doyle first punched a male guest in the chest, prompting the victim to flee. He then subjected two women to a terrifying and sustained assault, before later kicking and spitting at the police officers who arrived to stop him.
Kent Police were called to the property around 8.30pm. They found one of the female victims at the bottom of the stairs, having been grabbed by the throat, pushed, kicked, and punched. Her injuries were severe, including cuts to her face and arm, a fractured hand, and a dislocated knee. The second woman suffered internal bruising after being punched repeatedly in the head and chest. She was assaulted while attempting to shield the first victim and call for help.
During the horrific ordeal, Doyle snatched the women’s phones and threatened to kill them as they tried desperately to escape. The victims were only able to lock themselves inside and call police after Doyle temporarily left the property.
Doyle, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene but continued his aggressive behaviour, assaulting two officers and spitting inside the police vehicle. Officers also discovered a knife in his pocket when he was searched. Despite denying the assaults, Doyle was convicted following a trial.
On 3 October 2025, at Maidstone Crown Court, he was sentenced to five years and 11 months in prison. A restraining order has also been put in place to protect the three victims.
