A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of rape following a reported sexual assault on a teenage girl in Tunbridge Wells Common over the weekend. The arrest was made by officers earlier this afternoon, Monday, October 20, at around 3:30 PM, after an extensive local investigation. The suspect is currently being held in custody.
The alleged assault is reported to have occurred on Saturday, October 18, 2025, between the hours of 8 PM and 9 PM. Police say the teenage victim was walking on the common, heading from the direction of Victoria Road towards the Millennium Clock, when an unknown man approached her and engaged her in conversation.
The assault reportedly took place later that evening next to a rock formation on the common, near Mount Ephraim and the junction for Molyneux Park Road. Officers have been conducting widespread enquiries in the area since the incident was reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
