100mph Pursuit and Collision on A2 London-bound near Gravesend

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a high-speed collision on the A2 London-bound near Shorne on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The incident began in Rochester at approximately 2:45 PM when officers requested a vehicle—a silver BMW 320D—to stop on Bligh Way. The vehicle failed to stop, initiating a pursuit. The BMW drove along Watling Street before entering the A2 London-bound carriageway between the Medway and Shorne exits. During the pursuit, the vehicle reached speeds of up to 100 mph.

The chase ended when the silver BMW collided with a red BMW saloon near the exit for Shorne Country Park. Two occupants of the red BMW—a man and a child—sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution. Officers arriving at the scene found the silver BMW abandoned. An area search was conducted, but no suspects were located. However on October 14, 2025, an 18-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or the preceding high-speed pursuit to come forward. This includes drivers who may have dashcam footage that captured any part of the incident.
