Kent Police are urgently appealing for the driver of a car or small van to come forward following a fatal collision on the A2990 Thanet Way near Whitstable last night.
The collision, which occurred at approximately 8:35 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, involved a silver Renault panel van and a blue Skoda Octavia. The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the crash took place in Chestfield. Tragically, the driver of the Skoda, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed. The driver of the Renault van was taken to a local hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition.
Investigators from the Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) believe the driver of a car or small van was in the immediate vicinity at the time of the incident, travelling towards Whitstable. They stress that this motorist may have important, crucial information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
