A fire that broke out in an industrial building at Standard Quay in Faversham in the early hours of Sunday morning is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) crews were called to the scene at 00:32 today, Sunday, October 26, 2025. Six fire engines initially attended the blaze, supported by a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used main jets and high-pressure hose reel jets to tackle the flames.
KFRS initially advised people living or travelling near Standard Quay to close windows and doors and avoid the area. However firefighters had brought the smoke under control, and the advice to keep windows and doors closed and travel in the area was lifted at 7.00 am. Firefighting operations were declared complete at 1.00pm.
