Major Blaze on Guy Fawkes Night at Ramsgate Industrial Site; Investigation Underway

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) successfully contained a significant blaze at an industrial building on Manston Road in Ramsgate overnight. The emergency services were first called to the scene at 8:20 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, following reports of a fire within the facility.

Six fire engines, supported by specialist vehicles, were immediately dispatched to the site. Crews worked for approximately four hours, utilizing powerful main jets to bring the extensive flames under control. The incident was officially declared closed shortly after 12:11 AM on Thursday, November 6.

The scale of the fire required the deployment of significant resources. In addition to the six fire engines, KFRS utilized a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier to ensure an adequate water supply and access to higher areas of the building. An unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) was also deployed to provide an aerial view for incident commanders.

Kent Police and an electrical safety engineer from UK Power Networks attended the scene to support the operation. Officials have confirmed that no injuries were reported to staff or emergency personnel during the incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known and will be subject to a formal investigation.
