Two men have been charged with murder following a police investigation into the death of Charles Belsham, 43, who was fatally stabbed in Chatham on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Mr. Belsham was pronounced dead at a private address on Castle Road. Detectives linked the attack to earlier incidents involving a car being set alight and a stolen vehicle in the area.

In total, three men were charged late on Wednesday, November 5.

  • Two men (aged 51 and 41) face the murder charge.
  • The 51-year-old and a third man (aged 40) were also charged with arson and handling stolen goods.

All three appeared in court and have been remanded in custody. The two murder suspects are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, November 10. A 45-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed. Officers are continuing to appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them.
