Firearms including a prohibited handgun have been seized in Swanley during the latest enforcement to tackle drugs supply and a suspect linked to the weapons was then tracked down and arrested in Wales where he has now been charged and remanded in custody.
On Thursday 6 November 2025, officers executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act, at a residential property in Alder Way, Swanley. A Peugeot van parked nearby was also searched and this led to the recovery of a Smith and Wesson revolver, along with a shotgun and a self-loading rifle.
Fast track enquiries saw officers coordinating closely with colleagues at South Wales Police and during the early hours of Friday 7 November a vehicle linked to the investigation was found parked at a location next to the M4 near Newport. Searches of the area were assisted with dogs and drones and quickly led to the arrests of two men. A third man was arrested later that day.
A man aged 27, from Swanley was later charged by Kent Police with possessing a prohibited weapon and two counts of possessing a firearm without a certificate. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 10 November and was remanded into custody. His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on 8 December.
The two other suspects, aged 50 and 32 and who were both detained for assisting an offender, are currently bailed pending further enquiries.
