A Maidstone woman has been charged in connection with allegations that she posed as a care worker to steal a bank card from an elderly victim suffering from dementia.
Police were alerted on Saturday, November 15, 2025, after the vulnerable pensioner was reportedly targeted at her home address near Week Street.
- It is alleged that at approximately 11:15 AM, the accused arrived at the property and falsely claimed to a relative that she was the victim’s appointed carer.
- Shortly after this alleged incident, the victim’s bank card was reportedly used to withdraw £250.
Charged and Remanded
At 8:05 PM that evening, the woman—aged 60 and from Maidstone—was arrested. The charges also include previous alleged thefts involving the same victim.
She has been formally charged with:
- Burglary
- Fraud by false representation
- Breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order
She appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 17, where she entered a not guilty plea. Following the hearing, she was remanded in custody.
Her next court date is scheduled for December 15 at Maidstone Crown Court.
