A suspected thief has been arrested after the van he was found with in Folkestone was reported to have been in the Swindon area at around the same time it was in Kent.
Kent Police officers patrolling in Dover Road, Folkestone spotted a suspicious VW Transporter shortly after 2pm on Tuesday 25 November 2025. They signalled for the driver to stop and he pulled over into a car park.
Enquiries were carried out and it was established that the vehicle, suspected to be displaying cloned number plates, had been stolen.
The driver was subsequently detained and the van was seized. Searches were completed and a quantity of white powder, believed to be cocaine, was recovered, along with suspected stolen electronic equipment. A 47 year old man from the local area was taken into custody while police carry out an investigation.
