A 47-year-old man has been remanded in custody after a swift police investigation into a residential burglary in Ashford over the Christmas Holidays.
The incident during the early hours of Boxing Day was reported to Kent Police shortly before 2:00 AM on Friday, 26 December 2025. Officers were told that a property in the Boxley area had been targeted, with a haul of stolen items including jewellery and various personal possessions.
Following a rapid initial investigation, officers tracked a suspect to the Stanhope area of Ashford, where an arrest was made just after 5:00 AM—only three hours after the initial report.
The suspect, who is of no fixed address, was formally charged with burglary in the early hours of Saturday, 27 December. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court later that day, where he was remanded in custody. The case has now been moved to Canterbury Crown Court, with the next hearing scheduled for Monday, 26 January 2026.
