A 30-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with a violent assault involving a metal pole and a separate incident involving threats following a driving dispute.

The charges stem from a midday confrontation in Willesborough late last year. According to Kent Police, emergency services were called to Church Road at approximately 2:00 PM on November 15, 2025. Investigators allege that a suspect, who was known to the victim, approached a flatbed truck on foot. The assailant, reportedly armed with a metal pole, proceeded to assault the driver, a man in his 30s, and cause significant damage to the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The victim required medical treatment for facial injuries sustained during the attack.

Following an investigation by local officers, a suspect was apprehended on Friday, January 2, 2026. In addition to the November 15 assault, the individual faces charges related to a separate confrontation on November 5. In that instance, a woman was allegedly threatened in Upper Vicarage Road following a roadside disagreement.

The suspect has been formally charged with, assault, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon. The accused appeared before magistrates in Folkestone on Saturday, January 3. During the hearing, he was remanded to Canterbury Crown Court, where he is scheduled to enter a plea on February 2.
