Two suspected bike thieves were swiftly captured and arrested by officers in Sittingbourne.

At about 12.15pm on Saturday 3 January 2026, patrols were alerted to the bike with two people on board speeding and riding on the wrong side of the road in Swale Way.


Officers pursued the motorbike through the town, where it was found abandoned in Berkeley Court, about four miles away.

The suspects had left the location before officers arrived, but with the assistance of the National Police Air Service and Kent Police drone pilots, they were tracked down and arrested in the High Street. Two 17 year old boys, from Sittingbourne were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, handling stolen goods and possession of a class B drug. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
