EYNSFORD – Kent Fire and Rescue Service successfully rescued a motorist after their vehicle became stranded in rising flood waters near Station Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers received reports of the trapped vehicle at 12:19 PM. In response, two fire engines and a specialized water safety unit from Dartford were deployed to the scene. Upon arrival, crews worked alongside other emergency services to reach the car. Firefighters were able to manually push the vehicle through the water to a safe, dry location, concluding the operation by 12:51 PM.
In the wake of the incident, fire officials issued a formal warning to the public regarding the dangers of localized flooding.
A spokesperson for the service emphasized that motorists and pedestrians should never attempt to navigate through flood water. Even shallow-looking water can conceal significant hazards, such as displaced manhole covers or debris, and can be deceptively deep enough to stall engines or sweep vehicles off the road.
