In response to a fatal incident in Eythorne, Kent Police have formally charged a suspect with murder.
The investigation began on the morning of Thursday, January 29, 2026, when emergency services were called to a property in Rose Gardens following reports of a physical assault. Upon arrival, police and paramedics located a victim in his 20s who was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased’s family has been notified of the loss.
A man in his late 60s, who was acquainted with the victim, was held at the property immediately following the discovery. After further inquiries, the suspect was officially charged on Friday, January 30, and remains in custody. A preliminary court appearance is scheduled at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court for Saturday, January 31.
Detectives are actively seeking additional information to assist with the ongoing investigation. They are requesting that any witnesses who have not yet come forward contact them as soon as possible. Specifically, investigators are asking local residents to review private CCTV footage and requesting that motorists who were in the area check their dashcam recordings for any relevant data from the time of the incident.
