A 29-year-old man has appeared in court to face 33 charges following a multi-agency investigation into a string of break-ins spanning seven English counties. Gledis Uka, who is of no fixed address, was remanded in custody during a hearing at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 2, 2026.

The charges follow a lengthy investigation by Kent Police into 14 linked burglaries occurring in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, and Ashford between December 2023 and November 2025. Investigators noted a specific pattern in the reports, which frequently described a masked man gaining entry to homes by smashing windows or glass doors to steal jewellery and cash.

The scope of the case extended well beyond Kent, with authorities linking the suspect to additional offences in Berkshire, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Suffolk, and Surrey. Following intensive enquiries, Kent Police officers tracked the suspect to Essex, where he was arrested on Friday, January 30.

On Saturday, January 31, Mr. Uka was formally charged with 31 counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary. Following his initial court appearance this week, he is scheduled to appear next at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, March 2, 2026.
