Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus entered the smoke-filled building to combat the blaze using main hose jets. Once the flames were extinguished, crews utilized positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the property of heavy smoke.

The emergency operation lasted approximately one hour, with the scene declared safe by 23:53. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Initial investigations suggest the fire started accidentally. In the wake of the blaze, KFRS issued a safety reminder to the public regarding the use of “white goods” such as tumble dryers, dishwashers, and washing machines.

Officers advised that residents should ensure all appliances are in good working order before use and strictly only operate them when someone is indoors and awake. Fire crews also emphasized that regularly cleaning lint filters in tumble dryers is a vital step in reducing the risk of a fire.
